Illness Visits

If your child needs acute visits, chronic issue or illness visits, or specialty providers, Children's Health Care is here to guide you.

Acute Visits

For acute illnesses, we have two options for appointments. You may attend our walk-in sick call hour Monday through Friday, 8am-9am in our Haverhill and Newburyport Upper and Lower Level offices, and on weekends and holidays, 8am-9am, in our Newburyport Lower Level office. You may also call for sick visit appointments from 9am until 7pm in our Haverhill and Newburyport offices. For more information see our Extended Hours and On Call page.

Chronic Issue or Illness Visits

For visits that require more time such as chronic headaches, chronic abdominal pain, and recurring issues, please call the office to schedule an appointment. Booking these appointments with your primary care provider, who is familiar with your child and their health history, helps us provide better care for your child. Specialty referrals will be made as determined by your provider.

Specialty Providers

If your child requires the expertise of a pediatric subspecialist, Children’s Health Care has established relationships with highly qualified providers, both local specialists and specialists in hospitals in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We will make the appropriate referral for consultation based on your child’s age and needs. We ask that you confirm insurance coverage with your carrier.
