Services

Children's Health Care offers a full range of pediatric and adolescent care, including newborn care, well-child care, emergency care, treatment of common (and uncommon) illnesses, and adolescent care through age 21. We offer extensive office hours, including evening hours for check-ups and sick visits as well as sick call hours on weekends and holidays. Children get sick 365 days a year, and Children's Health Care is there for our patients each and every day.

We also provide special consultative services for a wide array of medical, behavioral, developmental, and nutritional problems as detailed in the "Consultations" section below. A special care coordinator is available to help families of children with complex or out-of-the-ordinary medical issues coordinate their primary and specialty care.

All of our physicians are on staff at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts. In addition, we work closely with the specialists at major pediatric centers including Children's Hospital Boston and the New England Medical Center so that your child has access to the best possible care.

Well Visits

At well-child visits we will track the growth and development of your child, as well as provide routine tests and immunizations according to the most recent recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics. We recommend scheduling well-child visits one to two months in advance.

Consultations

Our doctors and pediatric nurse practitioners are available for specially arranged consultations with you on any aspect of child rearing. This may be a problem as common as toilet training or as complex as school problems, eating disorders, or behavioral or emotional issues. These consults are scheduled in advance to provide the additional time needed to discuss the problem.

Additionally, Children's Health Care has a pediatric nutritionist, a consulting child psychiatrist, and a special care coordinator on staff to help in the management of more complex problems. Consultations with the nutritionist and psychiatrist are scheduled when recommended by one of our primary care providers after an initial consultation with one of our pediatricians.
