Eric Bucher, MD, FAAP
Dr. Bucher joined Children’s Health Care in the summer of 2001. Prior to that he was in practice for three years in western Pennsylvania, where he also served as director of the level II special care nursery at Westmoreland Regional Hospital. As an undergraduate, Dr. Bucher majored in English literature at Northwestern University. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago and completed his residency training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Bucher is board certified in pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of several other prominent medical associations.
Born in Germany to American parents, Dr. Bucher was raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Despite his time in New England he remains a loyal Steelers fan. Outside of the office, his interest includes playing and writing music, woodworking, and genealogy. Over the years he has managed to perform and record music in sevral states, build a library for his home, and trace some branches of his family tree back as far as one thousand years. He is also kept busy by his three daughters and his wife, a high school English teacher and Massachusetts native.
